The third release from Dave Insley, "West Texas Wine" (2008) features Dave's road band "The Careless Smokers" (Bobby Snell, Vance Hazen, Daniel Jones & co-producer Dale Allen) for a 10-song romp through the landscape of Honky Tonk, Americana and Country Soul music. The set includes AAA rocker & fan-favorite "Beatin' Ya Down," the spaghetti western title track "West Texas Wine," and the acoustic Country ballad "Geneva's Gonna Leave Ya," while the album closes with a dramatic reading of Conway Twitty's "Don't Take It Away." Dave's previous CD "Here With You Tonight" (2006) debuted at # 1 on the Freeform American Roots (FAR) chart and was one of the top 10 local (Austin, Texas) releases of 2006, according to the Austin American Statesman.  Before that "Call Me Lonesome" (2005) was among Third Coast Music's Top 10 debuts of 2005, and Insley was selected as Arizona's Best Songwriter in 2005 by the Arizona Republic. The honky tonk performer led Arizona bands "Nitpickers" and "Trophy Husbands" before relocating to Austin in 2006.

Dave's unique songwriting and deep baritone have earned him a reputation as one of the Southwest's most original artists, and one of the regions most authentic Country voices. His CDs are available at your favorite record store, or click here to purchase online.

"the kind of set you have to drop everything and tell your pals about. A new book on Americana is now being written. Hot."

- Chris Spector, Midwest Record Recap

"A formidable Country & Western vocalist, Insley has a rare appreciation for, and command of, the nuances of Country phrasing & storytelling. A truly gifted singer"

- Bob Mehr, Phoenix New Times
