The follow-up to “Call Me Lonesome” finds Insley collaborating with CML alums Rick Shea (Dave Alvin Band), Rosie Flores, PH Naffah (Peacemakers), Diana Lee, Danny White & Chris Gough, along with newcomers Amanda Cunningham, Pat Johnson & Dave Gleason, for a ten-song love letter called Here With You Tonight (2006). Dave’s unique songwriting and deep, rich baritone have earned him a reputation as one of the Southwest’s most original artists and “Here With You Tonight” provides further evidence that the reputation is deserved. Effortlessly blending Country, Swing, Folk and Gospel, Insley shines a light into the dark corners of the heart, and narrates the journey with ironic detachment. Tracks include “Open Road,” “You’re The One I Prefer,” “God Love’s the Workin’ Man” and “South of the Border”.
